Quick summary
  • The complete microneedling guide already exists on the main site; this index links to it and to focused supporting pages.
  • Each supporting page answers one question the pillar deliberately leaves out.

The mechanism in one minute

Fine sterile needles create controlled micro-channels in the dermis. The body responds by laying down new collagen and elastin over the following weeks. Because the injury is controlled and the epidermis largely recovers within days, it suits deeper skin tones far better than aggressive resurfacing does.

Results are cumulative. A single session gives a temporary glow; scar depth and texture change over a planned series with four-week gaps.

  1. Day 0
    Session day

Skin looks flushed, similar to mild sunburn. Numbing cream wears off within an hour.

  2. Day 1–2
    Redness settles

Tightness and mild sensitivity. Barrier cream and SPF only — no actives.

  3. Day 3–5
    Light flaking

Fine peeling as the surface renews. Makeup usually acceptable from day 3.

  4. Week 2–4
    Early collagen

Texture looks smoother, pores appear tighter as new collagen begins forming.

  5. Month 2–3
    Visible remodelling

Scar depth and tone improve cumulatively across a planned series.

Typical recovery and collagen-remodelling window after a session.
